About Narelle

Narelle has completed a Health Studies Program in the field of Loss and Grief at the University of Queensland, and is currently completing a Masters of Counselling. Prior to this Narelle trained as an early childhood teacher and spent many years managing early childhood services and working with children and families.

Narelle believes that as we face the successes, joys and difficulties in our lives most of us turn to our community of friends and family to share both the good times and bad. Often that support is sufficient to get us through. At other times, additional professional support, such as counselling is helpful.

Narelle offers competent and professional support for working through grief, adapting to change, and personal growth. She believes that healthy grief work involves acknowledging the loss and adapting to a changed reality, without forgetting the past. Accepting grief and mourning as natural responses to loss, relieves the pressure we often feel to ‘get over it’ or ‘just get on with it’.

Narelle advocates for the integration of loss in order to improve wellbeing. Through her gentle, respectful approach, Narelle works supportively with clients as they find meaning and promote positive change in their lives.
